Stool makeover

I was so excited when I found this little stool at Goodwill. I had been looking for a bench or stool that had a seat on top that I could recover.

This one was perfect.

Even better…it was only $3.50! When I saw that, I immediately threw it in my cart! How could I go wrong for $3.50?

The legs and seat were in good condition and very sturdy. Good bones!

For a quick second, I thought I could paint it black and recover the seat in a cute printed material.

But then I pictured in my mind exactly what I wanted to do with it. I think the picture was a combination of the millions of pictures I have viewed over blog land the past couple of months.

Here are the materials I will be going out to get today…

white paint

burlap

a number stencil

black paint

Are you picturing what I am picturing?

I will be working hard today, and I will post the results on Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch this coming Monday.

I might have to post a “sneak peek” before then.

DISCLAIMER: The final result may not look anything like the picture I had in my mind.

Blessings,

Traci

  4. Traci, thanks so much for checking out the Cloche Party. I think it will be fun to see all the wonderful creations everyone does. BTW several ladies are also going to show their apothecary jars they decorate. So if you have some of those you want to include, that will be wonderful. Thanks again. Hugs, Marty

  5. Traci,
Thanks for stopping by my blog and your comments on my kitchen redo. I have looked at your guest house quite often. You have one talented husband and the kitchen looks awesome. I love that you flipped the normal cabinet choice by putting the white on the bottom and black on top. My kitchen just does not get enough light to do that. I do like all your ideas and read every update you post.

On your stool. I almost bought one very similar to this but the young princess in tow was not having a good day so we just left it. I think it will look good once you are done.
